Check-In Procedures
1 - Check-In at Camp Office – 6 p.m.
Parents & campers check in at the Office, and all medications are turned over to the Health Services Staff (see no. 2 below). You can then drive down the road to get closer to the cabins. Note: NO MEALS are served on Sunday (the first day of camp), so be sure to eat before you arrive.
2 - Medications Collected
Medications are collected at the time of Check-In. All medication must be in clearly labeled original containers packaged in a zipper-top bag & given to our Health Services Staff at Check-In. For the safety of all campers, we will keep & administer all medicine (including Tylenol, etc.) except those that must be immediately available (i.e., inhalers, bee sting kits). Camp CILCA's staff are trained in American Red Cross first aid & CPR. You will be notified if your child becomes ill or injured. Note: By Check-In, campers should have received any suppertime medication since no supper is served at camp that day.
3 - Trading Post Account Set-up
A Trading Post account is set up for snack and souvenir purchases. The Trading Post sells snacks, T-shirts & souvenirs. Discuss with your child ahead of time what they may or may not buy. Many parents purchase T-shirts & souvenirs with their campers on the first & last days of camp & give their kids $5-$20 to use for snacks during the week. All money will be held in your camper's account for safekeeping, and unused money will be returned at Check-Out. Campers should not keep money in their luggage.
4 - Campers Move In
Campers move in to their assigned cabin, meet their counselor, and then stay with the counselor to get to know other campers in the cabin.
