The Annual Banquet is an evening celebrating God's work of Creation and Redemption, especially as those works are enjoyed, proclaimed, and taught at Camp CILCA. Join us for an evening of music, food, great speakers, and friends.
This year, Rev. Jason Braaten will be our speaker on the topic of Patience. Special Music by the Lutheran High music ensemble from 5:00-5:30pm.

Dinner & Entertainment

The evening includes a three-course meal from Nelson's Catering, musical entertainment, and Larry Wachtel's world famous homemade fudge!

Music by Lutheran High School

Lutheran High School has a long and proud history in Fine Arts.
All our students take required classes in art or music. Current daily class offerings include choir, piano lab, music appreciation, fundamentals of art, and digital photography.
In recent years, our art students have visited the Springfield Art Association for special projects, and guest artists have visited art classes here at the school. Oftentimes, you'll find our halls beautifully decorated with a plethora of amazing art class creations.
Besides classes, recitals, and concerts at school, our music department also enjoys many opportunities outside of the classroom. Enrichment workshops, solo & ensemble contest, and ILMEA district and state honors festivals are all part of the growing and learning in our music program.

The arts offer such a wonderful, well-rounded experience for students, and we are blessed at Lutheran High to continue in these traditions.

Guest Speaker

Rev. Jason Braaten is pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tuscola, Illinois, and serves as First Vice President of the Central Illinois District of the LCMS. He is also host of The Gottesdienst Crowd podcast and a Logic Instructor for Wittenberg Academy. A graduate of Concordia University Chicago and Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, he lives in Tuscola with his wife, Lauren, and their five children.

Rev. Braaten will speak about "The Fire of Patience: Why Steadfastness Is Not Passivity." In an age that prizes speed, noise, and immediate results, the Christian virtue of patience can seem weak or outdated. Yet Scripture and the early Church present patience as something far stronger: not passive waiting, but active steadfastness rooted in Christ. This presentation will explore how patience forms the Christian mind, disciplines the will, and anchors the heart in joy. With insights from John 16, James 1, and the early Church Fathers, we will consider why patience is not the opposite of zeal, but one of its clearest expressions.
