New Camp Director
The Camp CILCA Board is excited to announce that Rev. Joshua Theilen will begin serving as CILCA’s new full-time Executive Director on March 7, 2016. Joshua first came to CILCA as a camper in 1990. In later summers he went on to serve as a junior counselor, maintenance, and summer counselor staff. He proposed to his wife Rebekah at CILCA. They were later married at CILCA and are now blessed with five children. Pastor Theilen has a BS in Education from Concordia University Nebraska and an MDiv from Concordia Seminary St. Louis. For the past eight years he has served as pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, and he has served as pastor of the week at CILCA during high school week several summers. In his acceptance letter to the board Pastor Theilen states, “I look forward to working with you to strengthen young people in their Christian faith and support the ministry of the churches of the Central Illinois District of the LCMS.”
Other New Staff at CILCA
Also joining the CILCA year-round staff are Karen Primm of Athens as Food Service Manager and Dan Agrall of Mason City in Maintenance. Pam Gross, who has been serving at CILCA as a cook and housekeeper, will take on the position of Housekeeping Coordinator.
Thank You for Dedicated Service
Rev. Dr. David Bueltmann and Pauline Koch (along with her husband Bob) have been instrumental in helping Camp CILCA during a time of difficult transition. Pastor Dave formerly served as Director for 12 years, and Pauline formerly served as Food Service Manager (among other roles) for 29 years. They have both served CILCA for the past four years as interim staff at minimal pay, and thanks to their dedication, CILCA is in the best financial shape it has been in for years. We thank them for their dedicated service! They are both committed to help provide a smooth transition for the new staff. We also thank the rest of the CILCA year-round staff for their continued dedication: Chloe Gross, Carolyn Marcotte, and Eileen Nichols.
Please continue to keep the Lord’s ministry at CILCA in your prayers during this time of transition!
