"The 'Families with Hope' retreat was a good experience for me and my younger
children. It was a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere to talk about not
so pleasant things. It was helpful for me to talk with other parents and
realize that the struggles I had were not uncommon. Kim Meyer was able to
relate to the kids, having been in their spot herself. I was touched to
see the compassion that the kids had for each other. We weren’t all
“healed,” but God provided the camp to help in that process, and it was good."

Families with Hope (Helping Single or Re-Married Parents and their Kids)
July 25-27 – 7pm Friday – 1:30 pm Sunday
Families who have gone through divorce (recent or otherwise) deal with a
unique set of challenges. Kids, for example, often deal with issues of guilt,
wondering what they could’ve done differently to keep mom and dad together. Why
not learn some strategies and skills that will make things easier in the long
run for
all family members. Thanks to a grant from CID-LWML, Camp CILCA is
offering a camp retreat filled with learning, growing, playing, and hope.
LCMS Lay Minister & Parish Nurse, Kim Meyer, RN, PN, CLLM will lead both joint and separate sessions for parents and kids.
