Servant Events
There are a wide variety of servant events that can be performed here at Camp CILCA. Here are a few projects that are on our wish list for 2012. Each project will take time to plan, and coordinate resources and availability. However, all these projects are necessary and will help us out here at camp considerably. Please consider Camp CILCA as place to do your next servant event project.
We need a new trail to the sycamore tree!!!
Leading groups to the 2nd oldest sycamore tree in the state has been an adventure for years. Unfortunately, due to erosion and simple wear and tear it is time we look at making a new trail to the sycamore tree. A suspension bridge, 6ft wide trail, and guard rails at dangerous spots would be much appreciated.
We need new stairs at the entrance of prayer trail.
The prayer trail at camp has been here for nearly 40 years. Roots and erosion now dominate this trail and it would be great to see this trail redone and the steepest incline have new stairs//steps put in. Hundreds of outdoor education children use this path each year. This truly would make a great impact here at camp.
We need new stairs near picnic shelter.
Camp is trying to meet the needs for all generations to enjoy their time at camp. The path that goes from the Christian Growth Center down the valley up to the picnic shelter is no longer safe for our elderly to walk though. The path really needs stairs/steps put in and lots of mulch to keep the mud at bay. Rails are also essential to give many with weaker legs the added assistance while walking stairs. Help out those who really could use a extra hand in getting around camp.
